In view of the reduction of pixels in the Canon G11 compared to the G10 to boost low light performance,would it follow that a Canon 20D with 8 million pixels will outperform a 50D with 15 million pixels in low light conditions?I'm asking the question because i'm after a DSLR specifically for low light work.Thanks.

No, probably not.

The 50D takes advantage of improved technology over the 20D (I used to have a 20D)

At the moment, I would say that Nikon is leading the way with low light, low noise in DSLRs. I've got a D3 and it's superb right up to the high ISO's and I often use ISO 6400 at gigs

Hi,thanks,can't afford a D3 though,maybe a D90 would be a good choice coupled with a 50mm prime.
