    Cool first camera

I use a Panasonic DMC-fx10 and it is brilliant, easy to use very good quailty pictures and it has a rechargeable battery which i believe is much better and cheaper than AA batteries.

If its for a child though i'd rate the most important factors in this order:
    1. Looks/styling
    2. Ease of Use
    3. Image Quality

Kids generally don't pixel peep and would struggle to see the difference between the results from most cameras, but want it to look good and be easy to use. I hope she's happy with her Casio. Its pink, so that's a bonus if the girls I know are anything to go by!
