First camera
Hi there
I am new to this so bear with me with my questions.
My daughter will be 10 on her next birthday and she wants a digital camera. So i am looking for a nice compact camera up tp £100, are there any recommendations.

Canon A480
Hi
I just bought my daughter the Canon A480 from Argos at £79.99
It's an ideal starter camera as she can shoot in Auto to begin with, then onto the myriad of Scene modes and later, adjust ISO and EV manually when she gains experience
It has Red Eye reduction (after you have taken the shot) in camera, comes in a range of colours and runs off 2 AA's.
Here is a small review on it http://www.whatdigitalcamera.com/equ...anon-a480.html
Look at some pictures on http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Canon+A480

Canon A480 is a great, affordable little camera. You can spend the leftover money on a few SD cards too.

The Canon is a great compact at that price point. Really impressive results which belie its price tag.
It is a little bulky however and not the most attractive in the hand. If you think your daughter might like something a bit better looking, the Panasonic FS7 is less than a tenner over your budget and is a good camera

My camera has a lithium battery which is great, the cameras i am looking for my daughter need AA batteries and as she won't use it a great deal is this ok or is it better to go for a camera which has a lithium battery.

The advantage of AA's is that you can buy them anywhere, so you're never out of power.
If you find she is taking more and more pics, then go for rechargeable AA's and a charging unit.
I bought my daughter this setup from 7 day shop.

Casio Z33
I generally like Casio but the Z33 has a poor image rating http://www.trustedreviews.com/digita...ilim-EX-Z33/p1
However, I'm sure your daughter will enjoy it
When someone is asking for advice, I invariably point to a particular camera because of it's image quality first, and its ergonomics second
