Hi at last got my 70-300vr lens today. Unpact it toom my 18-200 of one of my D200 bodys fited 70-300 and aghh it wont focus the camera fires but its all out of focus. So put 18-200 back on and aggggg it would not focus now. Phoned Calumet and 70-300 is going back tommorow.I too batterys out of my 200 waited but thme back in and it works focus well. So tryed 700-300 on me other D200 and nope it wont fucus.Tryed 18-200 on 2nd body and yep it would not focus un till i removed battery and put it back in. Now any one know why i had this trouble Many Thanks

Have you switched the VR off before you change lens I believe you can sometimes have problems if you remove/mount lenses with the VR and/or camera switched on.

Judging from the typing (grammar, spelling etc) in the first post, maybe you are under the influence of something? Are you sure that you have not accidentally switched the lens (or camera(s)) to manual focus? Were the camera(s) and lens switched off when you changed lenses?

All of the above, plus have you checked the viewfinder dioptre?

(Trys to type better) Well the lens was tryed on a D300 and aD200 at Calamet. It would not foucus on the D200 thay had. So i was given a new lens. This one works fine now on my D200 so im a happy bunny now.
