I bought one yesterday. Makes the 55-200 look tiny . Its quite nice to be using stabilization again. The last time was when I had my Conan S3 about 18 months ago. The shot below was taken about 9.15 tonight with overcast sky with the lens on my D300. Settings were 300mm,ISO 3200,Low NR,f9,1/50 sec and sharpened a bit. It hasn't turned out tooo bad has it?.

This is a very underestimated lens.

Absolutely! I've had this lens for a while now and can't recommend it enough. It was good on my D80, and works really well with my new D300!

Well, after my initial delight with this lens,I started to realise that it was not as sharp as the reviews/comments on it suggested. So,after lots of testing at different apertures/focal lengths etc etc,I decided to call Jessops yesterday and tell them the problem. They told me to take it back. Off to Shrewsbury I went. Laura, the assistant had a quick inspection of it and decided to give me a replacement. I am now a happy bunny because the lens I now have,is much much better. The original lens I had certainly was a stinker.
