Not a 'high zoom lens' surely?

How reckless of them.

I'd best watch out this weekend with my 500mm lens at the weekend then!

I reckon these Wardens make PCSOs look like paragons of virtue.

So what happens if someone visits Jessies/Jacobs/Independent Store in a high street or shopping centre, and wants to take a camra/lens out of the shop to try it at longer range (as we do)? Is that to be outlawed too?

Surely the owners/mamangers of camera shops operating in town centres should be making representations to these idiots, as ultimatly these restrictions will hit their bottom line.

If it is a High Street nobody can legally stop you but if it is a shopping centre, not a public place, then the owner can decide.

You are correct of course. But would it be 'reasonable' for the owner of a shopping centre to forbid its customers from trying out a camera outside of a camera shop?

I'm sure we all do it when we go to buy equipment, possibly with an assistant ready to give chase in case we sprint off with full frame Canon and L glass.

Whilst I agree that photographers should be allowed, indeed are allowed by law, to take photographs in a public place, having watched part of the YouTube footage, I do not think that the way the megaphonist was acting was right and proper. I for one would not wish to be associated with such action.

Do you not think that there comes a point where, collectively as photographers, we should be saying "enough is enough", and therefore behaviour (such as that by the man with the bull-horn) is justified in drawing wider attention to the situation, regardless of how local/trivial any individual instance appears.

Actually, I think it worth increasing the budget by 45% and opting for this one...

Well, it's twice the weight, and doesn't have a good review like the other one - or is it that you don't want me to sound cheap?

Well ... since you put it like that, I'll add it to my wishlist.

It'll have to go below a new set of studio lights though.
