Mine neither. A guy who commissioned him for something and thinks he's quite brilliant pointed me at this site.
The shots seem quite odd and cold to me and he seems to like a great deal of DOF, lots of shots in the same style too, and he's blown his highlights on some of them. Not that I want to imply that I could do better as I couldn't but they just struck me as not being what I expected and I wondered what others thought.

It's a very harsh aesthetic but it seems to be a growing one, especially in BJP.
There seems to be a lot of photographers, especially in advertising, going down this route - not too enamoured with it but a trend is a trend

Cold, clinical and modernist. Rather lacking in originality and soul - more photography by rote I feel and not truly pushing the envelope let alone ground breaking.
Not really for me...

To be fair, that kind of thing has been popular in Germany for a while I think. A bit of Martin Parr thrown in too perhaps?

I've just check and the guy who commissioned him says that he's German. I just though that if this style is / was popular in Germany it may partly explain things, if he was influenced.

I really haven't got anything nice to say about the shots on the web site. But, he's a photographer and people commission him to produce stuff for them so he must be doing something good.
As I said before he doesn't seem to mind blowing his highlights but as you guys know more than me, ignoring the artistic critique for a mo, from a technical viewpoint are the shots any good?

Does it matter? He's giving his clients what they want, and it's rather pointless to try and criticise the pics against a scale they were never intended to be measured against.

The reason I ask is that I don't see too much to like in the shots themselves and I'm just wondering what I'm missing. So, I just wondered if some of the "brilliance" that I don't see is shown in some technical way.

I don't like them either. The only thing that I do thing is interesting is showing different cultures in the 'same country??' although I find the images very wooden. Lisa.
