Anyone had experience of this....
Trying create an HDR of 3 RAW files.
Import, then go to tone mapping. Get the preview set up to diaplay as I want it then process.
However, after process the image is WAY darker that it appreared in preview. So much so that it's unusable. It's also difficult to predict which setting/images will be affected this way - other times/settings seem to bring them out very similar to the preview.
Any thoughts? Anyone had the prob and found a way round?

I bought Photomatix last autumn to try some HDR landscape stuff. As you have done, I found that the preview bears little resemblance to the final image. I found the final image to be oversaturated when compared to the preview. It made using the software a real pain because I was always having to try and allow for this change when adjusting the sliders. I also quickly came to the conclusion that even a well manipulated image looks too artificial for my taste. I haven't used the software for months now.

I've tried a little HDR using the trial version...and this is always something that has concerned me a little bit....being able to manipulate the image in such a way that it doesn't look too unnatural.
I do however think that Photomatix produces the best results of the ones I have tried.
