Ivor Matanle`s column.......
      #666855 - 15/06/2008 12:31

.....this week on the XA range omitted one feature of the XA:The 3 position lever on the base which gives +1.5 stops for backlit subjects, battery check and self timer.
A superb little camera.

Though he showed a picture of it he did not mention the rather odd 1L flash gun. This has a pair of lithium Br2/3 coupled together and soldered in place.
when they are used up that is the end of it...the original disposable electronic flash.
I managed to disassemble and solder in a pair of similar batteries to get my 1L to work again.
The advantage of the flash is it's extremely short charge time.Fractions of a second.

I've got an A16 and an A9M for my two, but I've never seen a 1L. Must say I'm not a terrific fan of the flashes, unlike the cameras.

Nor I, I have never had a problem with any of mine. I have an A16 an A11 and the A1L To go along with my XA and XA2 I never really fancied the other models

Oh they work OK, just they rather spoil the overall package in terms of size and handling, and they're not very versatile.
