Do any of you know of a repairer who could repair or replace the take-up spool on a Lordomat rangefinder camera? The camera is in otherwise mint condition! I can make it work with the use of sticky tape to hold the film in position, but this is not a very good solution to the problem.

Dunno about repairers, never got that far with mine, customs at Southend airport took mine away from me in 1957

Anybody else out there got a Lordomat? Do you still try and use it too? What other classic film cameras are in regular use?.... I LOVE 'EM. and P.S. I am also converted to Digital!.... I don't like my "handle" Newbie.

Keep posting, and before you know what's happened it will change. You may not like that one either...

Whereas if you keep asking, a Mod will give you a title you REALLY won't like.
None of my classics are really in regular use any more, but I do use one or other of them fairly regularly. Must decide which to use next.

I have one - an SLE with an interchangeable f1.9 Leidolf Wetzlar Lordon. (very odd external thread mount)
Very proud of the fact that they came from "Leicaville" put Wetzlar on everything!
The earlier ones had a wrong way round leverwind rather like an Alpa. Mine is a later one with a conventional wind and a more streamlined top without the pronounced meter mounted on top like the Contaxes of the period.
Didn't seem to be imported to the UK in large numbers - just quietly faded out in the early 1960s - last mention is AP's annual Camera Guide is 1962, when the SLE was priced at £72-12-11d
Quite well built & solid - a cut above the general run of Agfas Silettes & Kodak Retinas.
If you want me to date your model, send me a PM with some of its features - I have all the AP Camera Guides from the 50s, & 60s plus a lot of UK & German wholesale/importers catalogues + McKeowns of course, though he is not all that hot on German rangefinders not well known in the US.
Never used it, as I prefer to take out one of my Retinas of the same period - if I want interchangeable lenses, as I have a complete set of REtina ones.
