Nikon F3 focus screens - success at last
      #656718 - 19/05/2008 12:02

Some years ago just before Jessops stopped doing s/h gear, my local branch was getting rid of SLRs at very low prices, and I bought two F3s. One tatty, and one mint with HP finder.

Since then I've been on the look-out at Camera Fairs for F3 bits and pieces, including focus screens; and normally my hopes rise when I see the small box with F3 on it, only to be dashed that the screen inside the box is the standard screen, a type K, whatever the label states. Yesterday at Photographica was different, and I now have an "M" and a "D" screen - for £5 each. Even so, neither screen matched what was on the box label.

Am now looking forward to seeing for myself just how much difference a screen can make.
