New E510 once you edit a picture in the camera can you save it?

Yes you can, when you edit the picture and confirm it, it will save to the flash card. Although I would recommend you use a specialist image editor such as photoshop etc as it gives you more control

It not only gives you more control, it also doesn't wreck the original image when you save it. If you make a mistake - and you will - you might regret it later.
You don't necessarily need Photoshop; there are lots of reasonably priced or even free programs. Why do you want to edit in-camera?

I entirely agree about editing out of the camera (even the supplied Oly Master is preferable) but in camera does not wreck the original image "The edited image is saved as another image, apart from the original image." - from page 61 of the manual
