Tripod Bag
      #616935 - 25/02/2008 19:46

I have a Manfrotto 190XPROB and a 460MG head which is quite compact. I need a comfortable means of carrying this kit on some hikes I will be doing in Canada soon. I ordered the manfrotto MBAG80P padded bag but it is absolutely enormous! I really don't think I can manage to carry that bag together with a backpack on 6 hour long hikes!

Any suggestions?

Is the unpadded MBAG70 a more sensible size (this will fit my tripod, but no where seems to give all the dimensions)?

Are there any other makes?

Strap it to your backpack. That's what I do with a similar sized tripod

WHS

I have an MBAG80P that the tripod lives in (if it's in a bag it's allowed to live in the open...) and gets transported in but if there's any hiking, the tripod gets strapped to the backpack. If you want to hide the tripod, an old pair of jeans could donate a suitable length of leg to be a concealing bag.

I have a bag, but never use it. The tripod either gets strapped to my backpack, or carried with the strap.

I've got an Opticron strap for my tripod, gave up on the bag because I ended up leaving it in the car most of the time.

May be some cheap chineese gun bag? They are padded and rather comfortable? and sometimes looks like Gitzo bags.
