Strange happenings on the AP forum.............
      #618260 - 28/02/2008 12:48

A few days ago, the forum was running slowly, and I tried to read a thread, all of a sudden the AP forum started opening uncontrollably in new windows, resulting in about 40 odd new Windows! I shut the whole lot and all was fine, until a minute ago, when I was having trouble opening the guardian reader thread. So after a few tries, I decided to close the window, all of a sudden, the AP forum opened in nearly 80 new windows! What is happening? Running IE7 on Vista.

Do you try and open a new window/tab for each topic you go to read?

It's almost certainly Fen's fault - he was probably moving a thread at the time...

Hmmmm no idea then.

Could it be some malware on your machine?

Fen - should not be any malware - I am very careful about what goes on my machine and clean up regularly.

BJB - This is a very unusual occurrence and exclusive to the AP forum, so can't really put it down to my OS and browser.

Joking aside, it's probably related to the server wobbles. I've not seen this behaviour, but I've had so many odd things happen nothing would surprise me.

Quite likely, because it has only happened when the site is running very slowly.

Running IE7 on Vista as well, noticed this behaviour myself but not just linked to the AP forum, could be any page I'm visiting and it just opens whatever is set as my home page. Only way I've found to stop it is to go into the task manager, processes and close ie explorer.

Anyone else know anything about this?
