Kodak Type 35 Retinette 1a
      #601539 - 25/01/2008 17:40

Hi
I picked up the above camera in a charity shop today for £5-00. It is in lovely condition with a case. Information as follows.
Serial No:-94047 Feb59/Oct59 i gather about 80,000 produced.
Lens:-Schneider Krouznach Reomar f1.35 50mm f1.35/f22.
Shutter:-VERO.
Speeds:-B,30,60.125,250.
Lens Markings:-478---478t.
The shutter is crisp and appears to be correct speed wise but will check with film. What i can not find is any settings for ASA or DIN and the knob on the top shows the following marks.
Colour, Daylight, A bulb and two arrow heads reversed one black and the other silver.
Does anyone have any information on the shutter and anything else that could be of assistance. The next version had the same lens but with a Pronto Shutter. Google had no answers re the VERO shutter.
Many thanks for any information.
Regards,
Mibron.

I've seen things like that before on cameras produced in the late 50s or early 60s. I think it's non-functional, just a reminder as to which type of film you have loaded.

I don't think it was normal to have a film speed setting if there was no built-in meter ... sometimes there was a non-functional reminder though.

Hi beejaybee
Many thanks your reply. The two arrow heads denote black and white film the centre moves to set the film type. The camera is manual.
Many thanks
Mibron.

Hi Roger,
Many thanks for above this is the later version from 1960.The lens changed to a f2.8 and the shutter changed to a Pronto. Numerous other changes including the inclusion of focus icons etc. Apart from the changes the remainder remains fine. Once again many thanks.
Mibron.
