Well I have changed the light seals and cleaned it all up only to have it "sassing" my sister (as she put it). For some reason it doesn't always cock the shutter right when wound on so after todays test run we expect to find numerous unexposed negatives where we have had to wind on a second time thus skipping a frame.
Does anybody have any clue as to what may cause such a problem and how I might be able to sort it out? I don't object too much to trying myself as (a) I like tinkering and (b) I was given the camera free when I bought some darkroom equipment. If I can get it going ok it seems that my sister has commandeered it for her personal use .

Mat have you tried The Classic Camera Repair Forum there are some very knowledgeable folk there and they're most helpful.

I have an ME, which uses the same film transport mechanism as the Super. I've found from experience that it pays to check very carefully that the film is caught securely on the white plastic needles on the film take-up spool: it can sometimes feel OK at first but then it becomes impossible to wind on after the first few shots.

I'd entirely forgotten about the Classic Camera Repair Forum but I'm pleased to see they have an article detailing a fault that sounds similar. Thanks Roger!
Martin I don't think the Super suffers like that as it will skip even when not loaded.

I think that the Super is affected by fault (1)B. Now I just have to find out how to correctly bend the wind lock (I think).
