I have a Canon Canonet QL25 that has developed a sticking compur shutter.
I quite enjoy using this simple little camera so i would like to get it repaired. Does anyone have any recommendations for such a job ?
I`m in Yorkshire but have no problems posting it off somewhere.
Thanks.

It'll almost certainly cost more than the camera is worth, I'm afraid.

My repairer would probably charge me around £35 - with my usual 'loyalty discount' - just for the shutter fix. Aa fuller service including seals, etc would clearly be more. Others would probably charge closer to £70-80. Frankly I'd say it's marginal ... Send me a private mail if you want my recommendation for a repairer. .T.

That does seem a bit too much to justify does`nt it. I only paid about £20 for the camera with case about 6 months ago. It may be better if i was to keep my eye out for another cheap small r/finder. I only use it occasionally alongside my D70s for the odd bit of b&w.
Thanks for your advice.

If you feel able to attempt a d-i-y fix, ask for help at Kyphoto website. There are some very helpful people there. The QL25 is a featured camera, so additional information may be available if you register. .T.

OK, thanks for that.
Looks like an interesting place !!
I`ve never taken a camera apart before, but i`m willing to learn if it`s not too difficult. I`ll give them a try & see what i can find out.
