Sigma UK have recently sent my 17-35 lens to Japan for repair, have any other forum members any experience of Sigma Japan repairs?

Yes, I sent my SD10 for repair, it was sent to Japan and I have been waiting for it for over 10 weeks (?) Should be getting it this week now.

I sent my 10-20mm back to Sigma UK (decentering issue). This then had to go back to Japan in early May this year when I was assured it would take 8 weeks. By mid July it still hadn't returned. A polite e-mail pointing out the delay, expressing disappointment at said delay and offering to accept a replacement resulted in a new lens being supplied without quibble.
I will say that this was a warranty repair though...

I have 4 Sigmas ,and this is good to know....... 
I had to send my 400f5.6 for repair after my brother dropped it on holiday, but that was back in 1993 when it was 3 years old. It is still going strong and gives great results on my Dynax 7d, and hopefull will do on the A700, when I get one.
