Lens service

I have obtained a nice Minolta 1.7 50mm lens. It is in good condition and takes great pictures. That said, there are a couple of small 'spots' within the lens and these appear as faint dots on light areas i.e. a light sky. It is not a great problem as I can get rid of the dots when I process in Photoshop, but it would be nice if this was not required. Does anyone know where the lens could be serviced?

Are you sure they are not on the sensor? Small spots in a lens rarely show up on results, they are too close to affect things usually. I am not suggesting that you are imagining the spots in the lens, but they may not be the cause in the end picture. The cost of servicing may well be as much as you paid for the lens.

If you want it serviced there should be a repairer in your area, usually members can suggest somewhere if they know your general location.
