Minolta 200 2.8 or 2.8 G HS version???

Hi all,

Looking at secondhand minolta Wihte 200mm f2.8 lenses, as recommended as superb.
What are your thoughts on this????


Who much difference in quality and speed is there between the 2.8 or the 2.8 G HS later model.
Which one is best to look for, or are they just as good.

Would be used on a film dynax 7 and 7D digital.

I've also been looking in this direction and I'm only looking for the HS version, mainly as the AF will be faster (improved gearing) and IIRC there were some improvements re APO glass etc.
What you'll find is that Minolta Pro Glass is good although in the 200mm camp there is evidence that the 200mm f/4 Macro is an even better lens and therefore are even rarer than APO HS G 'Hens Teeth'
