I am going to save for the Sony A300, because I can use 6 minolta lenses with it. But the reson for my posting is to ask if any of you have used the A200 or A300 before?.
Or if I should get the Canon EOS 1000D or Nikon D60 aswell.

Why not try to save for the A700, with the latest firmware (V4)it is the dogs wotsits (IMHO)at high ISO`s.
I got good results with V3 firmware at 3200 ISO

If I was to save for that, I would have to wait until I had finished School (1 year and abit) and a few months on top of that!.
My choices of Sony are A200 or A300, but if the high noise issue presists I'll have to look elsewhere .

I use the A200 and have had no problems with noise - having said that, I never use any ISO higher than 400 (I never did with film, either).

Why do people with expensive cameras say you don't need one to take good photographs

They have similar sensor and processor so should be the same. Difference, of course, is the a300 has an excellent live-view option.

Thank you . I am just abit worried over the Noise issue, as at the moment I shoot photos with a Fuji S5700 and in mostly 100 and 200ISO.

You'll have no worries at those ISO settings

And don't forget that with in-built stabilisation you'll be able to shoot at a lower ISO anyway.

I have just upgraded from an A100, to a 700. Never had an issue with noise at 100 or 200.
Have a look at http://www.alamy.com/stock-photography-s...;ot=0&adv=0
these were all tajen on the 100, at 100 or 200. I have blown up a couple of them to 24 x 16 and they look fantastic.
The 200 or 300 should be at least as good if not better.
Hope that helps,
Paul.
