Hi all,
Does anyone have this lens that they can recommend to K10d owners.
I currently have the 21mm & 40mm limited lenses and they are excellent. But sometimes I just need that extra wide angle.
As I have 2 primes, my first choice was the 14mm.
But also looking at the 12-24mm pentax and 10-20 sigma.
Even the 16-45mm f4 pentax is wide at its widest view.
There's something about primes though!
Any thoughts on the 14mm
Many thanks Graham

Hi Graham,
I have the DA 12-24 and sold a mate his DA 14 ..... he went for the DA 14 mainly for the closer focussing (over the DA 12-24) along with (but not mainly for) the extra speed. We are both really happy with our choices Also, I have sold an equal amount of DA 12-24/4's and DA 14/2.8's and have yet to hear any complaints As for the Sigma 10-20 which (over here) is pretty close to the same price -- I believe the Sigma is the equivalent of £20 cheaper -- and I know that "the birthday boy/Monobod/David" is pleased with his Sigma 10-20 lens
Hope this helps a little
Cheers,
Jack

I'm jealous - I'd love either of them. The 14mm can produce some stunning results, but then so can the 12-24. I prefer primes in general, but for wide scenes, how often would the extra stop on the 14mm be vital? If I had the chance to buy just one, I'd take the zoom for its versatility.

Exactly my reasoning and it has been extremely useful quite a few times
