On Thursday I went into a cafe (Bonjour on Queen St in Oxford - basically a sandwich takeaway bar but with a few tables)and ordered a Cornish Pasty for myself and a baguette for my wife plus coffees.
I didn't much fancy the lukewarm pasty when it arrived and opened it up to find colonies of white mould growing on the meat sludge mix inside. Naturally I complained and got a full refund. The guy behind the counter was concerned but another employee simply said (and I quote exactly) "Well we can't see inside the pastry"
We subsequently went to the Council Office to report it but they were on strike, the receptionist took our phone number but we have heard nothing since.
I just don't know what to do - it may be an isolated instance, it probably is, but what should we do - this place served food that can seriously harm someone.

Get onto Environmental Health and complain, with a cc to your local councillor.

WHS. That's revolting. It could be it's not being stored properly and the warmer weather is making things spoil faster. I noticed Tesco were selling mouldy bread tonight, admittedly reduced, but green nonetheless.
