Tragic accident in the home

Story here.You realy can`t imagine that happening to a child in their own home.

Unfortunately I can see it happening again. Large flat screen TVs are not stable on their bases when stood on a stand. They should be fixed to the wall with a strap if they are not wall mounted.

I agree TH-photos - I have never seen one in a stand that looks stable at all = the stands don't have any real weight to them and never enough room to add weights (unless you add dumbells and I can't see many a family adding them to their living room). That said a large TV is not that much more balanced - with all that glass at the front they only need a certain amount of tip before they carry on under their own weight.
