A New Concept for Living
      #680311 - 18/07/2008 13:17

We are:

- Washing up as we use things rather than as we run out of things.
- Putting things away rather than piling things up.
- Hoovering the carpet now we can find it.
- Taking our boots off at the door rather than walking mud throughout the place...(I'm struggling with this one)
- Actually recycling the cardboard rather than keeping it in a recycling pile.

I don't know how long this will last, but I reckon we've doubled our living space.

As I need to find space to park my Canon i865 printer...

Take it off and wash it is, I believe a naval tradition, unless you are living on one of those floating aerodromes containing a chinese laundry. It was very much the same as a civilian going up a big maountain. With all the food, sleeping bag, and climbing gear one didn't even take a spare pair of 'Y fronts' (it was 20 years ago) never mind a spare shirt. After a week in the Lakes I have just returned with a big holdall of dirty washing and another of unused clothes. The third contained two DSLRs 5 lenses, washing kit, maps guide books (7 Wainrights + two volumes of scrambling guides) and misc. I need the discipline of carrying everything on my back for at least one day.

Please note - the suggested way of life at the start of this thread does not work unless the following criteria are met:

1) you are living on your own

2) you are not living on your own, but your other half is female (though sometimes this can also lead to failure, depends on the woman in question

Do not attempt with kids, pets or cream coloured anything !!
