BBC I-Player
      #679813 - 17/07/2008 12:04

When did the I-Player change look? Granted been a while since I listened to Jonathan Ross on it, and was expecting the usual box with a list of programmes I could peruse while he was on.

That and I don't remember it being a flash base before [flashblock did it's usual "if you want to, click on it to see it"]

This any help to Erm and the other Mac users, or have they got some alternative way...?

Well,
back to tidying to Ross

[edit, good god, clicked on last of the summer wine, and it's "series 29"!!!]

The change occurred about 2-3 weeks ago, and it preeved me as it no longer include the subtitles to the programme.

So I gave it up already!

Yes it does. There's a button on the control panel for subtitles.

Not so Fen, since that the iPlayer had been updated recently it seem that they forgot to include the subtitles as most of the programme select at random don't sport the access [S] for subtitles or offer to include the subtitles when it's been select for download.

Reckon I'd better e-mail the beebs to point it out...

I was watching the last episode of DrWho the other night and I accidentally turned subtitles on!

So it must be there, or maybe only for certain programs???

Hmmm, now how was it that Derek and Clive addressed their letter to the Director General of the BBC?

Found this http://www.bbc.co.uk/accessibility/win/hearing/alt/sub_2.shtml by clicking the Accessibility Help link at the bottom of the i-Player home page.

There shouldnt be any problem listening to BBC radio on a Mac, Ive been doing it for years.

The problem with iPlayer is that for Macs its live-streaming only (so you cant download and watch). The main aggravation is that unless its a Monday morning or summat or everyone's in bed, itll keep freezing - but it appears this is due to your broadband connection (so I can only guess me neighbours sit on their arses all day watching iPlayer...)
