After all this talk about what's loaded on your iPod/MP3 player...
Which iPod/MP3 player would you recommend and why?

There was a thread on this topic just a week ago. Don't have the time to find and link it - sorry.

Get one with a large hard drive - I used it to back up images on when I was on holiday.

My old iRiver's taken a few knocks over the years, it still functions as new.

Apple iPod Classic 80GB
This is the one I have; I have over 3,000 songs on it, 543 podcasts, 25 audiobooks and some other bits and bobs - and I still have 60gb free.

If you value sound quality don't be an iSheep and get an iPod, get a Sony.

Ipod Nano as you can get it in pink and it's really slim and pretty

Totally agree.
Although for me it's a useless feature the video quality on the latest Sony players is in a different league to the iPods I've seen.....doesn't make everything look like it was shot on a mobile phone! I find it quite impressive to see such quality on such a small device (it certainly scores on gadget appeal ).

i-pod shuffle:-
Advantages
- cheap - small - Solid state memory - Virtually indestructable - Great sound quality for Money
Disadvantages
- no screen so music only - Can not choose next track - automatically selected

Zen stone is probably a better bet than the shuffle, though admittedly it doesn't have that nice clip.
Advantages are better sound quality (IMO), considerably cheaper, sexier (subjective I know...) and recharges/transfers files using a standard A-B mini USB cable (drag and drop on file transfer as well).

Heard that this morning... ah, the nostalgia. Made me want to dig out the old C90s and hook up the machine.
One thing annoyed me, some bloke talking about CDs? Vinyl, surely!!

It would have to be the iPod....... for the size of them (upto 160gb) and for the size of them (quite small).
Nothing comes close. The amout of extras you can get for them too is fantastic - although most of them useless
Yer - OK, so there are better sounding mp3 players, and there are better looking ones.... and there are cheaper ones - but you find me one that can store so much, sync so well with auto podcast updates and that is so user friendly!
(OK - so I like iTunes too, was using it before I got an iPod - but for those who don't like it there are alternitives out there too....)

It was very comforting to hear a girl obsessing about using the pause button and NEVER the stop button between tracks to avoid clicks.
And I did have a splicing block and even found a way to bypass the erase head so I could do fades between tracks.

I spent a nice chunk of pay cheque on an ipod touch one month.
Very nice piece, but I've only got a nice video quality through the stuff that Ive downloaded on Itunes.
