Not my usual kind of thing, but I just got an sb-28 through the post, so I wanted to try a multi light set up

Camera set on tungsten, with a flash just below the table pointing at the wall with a blue gel on, the front light is being diffused through a folded piece of paper with a cto gel on and a bit (though still not diffused enough to remove the reflection) There is then a homemade reflector on the right to fill any shadows.

I like that though the blown highlight/reflection on the glass slightly detracts from the overall effect.

Worth persevering though...

Indeed, I think I might try again, using a really close umbrella!

I pulled up one flash to a higher angle and put an umbrella on it.

Its gained and lost something.

I liked the vignetting on the first one, and the deeper colour, but I had to turn up the power of the back flash to compensate for the umbrella throwing out orange light everywhere rather then just at the subject.

The reflector isnt as effective at the relative angle either.

Nothing a bit of time and the PS Paintbrush and Curves can't fix.......

Your 3rd version?.............not for me. The rusty/orange/pinky band at the top is ghastly........

I'm not sure what caused the purple and brown! It must have been because the two gelled flash heads were so close together..
