Hi, welcome.
Not much point in buying your camera manufacturer's own brand. They don't have any lenses, they're just empty tubes with electronic contacts. Have you got a Jessops near you? Their tubes work fine and are about half the cost of camera makes tubes.

Blimey, just checked here, your right. They do sell the Kenko set of 3 for about the same price as a single Canon tube. The Jessops ones were nowhere near that price.

have a look on fleabay, bound to be some on there. Think I bought mine from a charity shop for a few quid. As said, no lenses so no optical problems. Mine are Triplus made in Japan (never heard of them but they work)

I picked up mint s/h Canon tubes some years ago, so they're not compatible with EFs lenses. Agreed that they don't include any lenses, but what I have noticed visually is the different contact arrangements:
EF12 tube has 5 + 3 contacts on the camera side EF12 tube has 5 + 3 contacts on the lens side This one doesn't work with M42 adaptors.
EF25 tube has 5 plus 1 double width & 1 normal width contact on the camera side EF25 has 8 plus 3 contacts on the lens side.
I've not checked for the presence of a chip in either, nor dismantled them. Have yet so see the MkII (EFs) versions.

Am guessing the extra connections on the Canon tubes are to communicate the change in effective aperture? The Kenko tubes don't appear to communicate any additional information and the camera thinks the lens is attached directly.
There's also some slack in the mounts of the Kenko set but not having used the Canon ones I don't know if they are better...but I would expect them to be.
Has the OP said which system they need tubes for?
