AP review of E520 and E420
      #671945 - 28/06/2008 08:59

I read this review in reverse and as i did so i noticed there was a different tone and style of writing. It wasn't till i arrived at the first page that the author was known, Richard Sibley. Scores..... who cares. An interesting and informative article.

I'll have to get a copy, I really fancy an E-4** form camera as it wouldn't take up much space in a rucksac. My head says the E-510 is a better choice as it has IS and is virtually the same size as the 410. I just like the look of the 410 plus it's cheaper.

There can't be much difference apart from the IS and the direct access D Pad buttons. The shape/lack of grip obviously might not suit some people but I don't mind.

I think it would have been good idea for the new IS function over and above the E3 spec to have been given a test on the E520. I have been impressed with IS in the E3, i doubt if i would buy a new camera without it. I will probably e-bay my E410 and get the E520 later on in the year.

My thinking is the same. Yes, the E510/20 has IS, but you're right, the size of the E410/20 is so appealing, especially with the new 25mm pancake. I really like the idea of carrying that camera around everywhere. It seems like Oly has got back to a good place with the E4** kit. Also, there's some great deals around.

I'm sure an E4** series will come with IS in time.

Just means E-400,E-410 or E-420 ie. an E4(something). Not a successor to the E3! Wow, nearly started a rumour there about the 'new E4'!

Hush up!

We're not supposed to mention the new E4 (it's embargoed until late August)...

Owing to delayed development the E4 will, in fact, come out as the E5.

Cheers!

It's actually quite cosy in here, one you sweep away the blood soaked sawdust from the floor.

I think the smiley appeared as the last post at that time was TFC's and he'd put a smiley in the title of his post.

Is it back again?

I thought the review was pretty reasonable, tho' I'd like to see some of those ultra cheap canikon kit lenses pointed at the trees for a fringing test!

And as far as I'm aware, its a metal framed body, not plastic.
