2X zoom & 1.4x wide angle lens converter advice needed

been looking at a few things on Ebay

by the looks of things they just screw on to the end of the lens similar to a filter, never used this style before and they are very cheap, so I was just wondering if anyone has used this sort of things before? if so are they any good? Do they work?
