Hello everyone,
does anyone know of a way to lock the exposure in live view mode?
Obviously pressing it focuses during this mode, but say you want the exposure value of something which is a different focal length to that of the subject. How can this be done?
Also, 'ISO limit' in the menu - does this effectively limit the ISO setting when in P/Auto ISO mode? if so, why does it only go up to ISO-400?
Also, has anyone else noticed that the zoom barrels twist the opposite way to other cameras?

Can't answer your other questions, but

I was under the impression that there were only three ways a zoom ring could "twist" - clockwise, anticlockwise & in-out (like a trombone) - and I've seen all three ways on cameras other than Olympus. Canon & Nikon twist rings go different ways round just be be awkward, after all, can't encourage people to defect to the opposition, can we?

Not sure about locking the exposure in live view. Can you use exposure compensation to get it back where you want? Don't have live view on my E-500 so maybe someone else can help there.
The idea of the ISO limit at 400, is because images will become noisier/grainier at ISO 800 and ISO 1600. If you're happy to live with that, then just remove the limit altogether in the settings menu. Personally, I never use the auto ISO setting. I leave mine set on ISO 100 for best results and then I change it only when I really need to get the shutter speed higher. It's almost instantaneous to change it anyway.
Oly lenses twist that way because it makes the world look nicer!

Oh yes, and not only that, owners of 'wrong' twisting lenses can develop a condition called Counter-bliss Twist, whereby they feel twisted and bothersome

I thought it was called "twisted nikkors syndrome".

Regarding the 'Exposure Lock' issue why not use 'Manual' mode?

And just to be really difficult I have noticed that my Sigma zooms don't all rotate the same way...
