Hey Guys,
Since going digital I haven't printed any of my pics and I thinks its about time I started. I have a budget of about 150 quid for a printer, though spending much less would be better. So, any ideas where to start? I want to print up to A4 and I'm fine with buying second hand. would something like a Canon PIXMA iP2600 costing 25 quid produce good quality A4 pics, or would I need to spend more than that?
Cheers
Tom

I have a Pixma MP510 and I can`t fault it. Always use original ink and paper for best results IMO. Cheers Dave

This is good timing. My Epson 350 has given up the ghost. It's the paper feed and I can see what's wrong and if I hold down a lever inside it works but I can't print with fingers inside. I've come across the Canon Pixma IP6700D which is attractive because it will print duplex and also do CDs. I don't need larger than A4 as I also have an Epson 4800.
Has anyone any views on the Canon and is it even current?

It's the drive to the rubber wheels that grab the paper and then the rollers take over so it has to release the wheels or it carries on shooting paper out all over the place. The real pill is that I keep lots of spare cartridges so that I don't get caught out if a print job comes out of the blue. Now they will be wasted.
Anyway, clean out of duck tape as I use it to hold the car together.

Using a bit of lateral thinking, maybe this would solve the finger problem?

When did you get it? It doesn't seem to be listed by Canon or anywhere else.

Thanks for your trouble. Unfortunately Amazon has it as "Currently unavailable" and Canon has it as an "archived product" so I think its finished.
Anyone with views on the Epson R800? It has been around for some time and I wonder whether it is due for replacement.

For just under £150 you can get a really nice Epson 1290 A3+ printer. I've had one for about 4 years and always get outstanding results, though that's printing on Ilford paper.
Never gone wrong.

Thanks for that. I did have a 1290 but swapped it with my daughter for her 950. I only needed it for small prints as I have a 4800 for large stuff and A3 was going to be useful to her. The 950 (I called it 350 in error above) failed and I have replaced it with the R800.
