Hi,
I am looking to purchase a simple monopod. Looking at the usual Manfrotto / Velbon options most go to 160cm in height, which I don't think would be quite high enough for me (at 6'4") to shoot standing up without a slight stoop that would give my neck / back no end of jip after an extended period of time.
I have found a Giottos monopod online at Warehouse Express for £45 which claims to be 180cm which should suffice but I was wondering if there are any other tall monopod users who could recommend me some other options to consider (apart from trying to shoot with a monopod from a lower point of view!).
Many thanks in advance

A few suggestions...
#1, a Manfrotto 222 or 322 head will add a few inches (8 or so) to the height of the monopod (the 322 will need the platform moving but that's an easy job). (IIRC, Calumet do a cheaper version of the 222)
#2, an extender could be made up to sit between the top of the 'pod and the bottom of whatever head you plan to use.
#3, an extender could be turned up to push into the bottom of the 'pod to raise it to the required height.
