HP iPaq help required.
      #660604 - 29/05/2008 15:31

After many moons lying dormant n my drawer, last night I tried to resurrect my HP iPAQ 3700 series PDA.

My problem is that it no longer recognises the partnership it used to have with either my desktop or my work laptop. When I try to create a standard partnership it tells me that the name Pocket_PC is alreayd taken so it still has a record of the old partnership.

Does anyone know how I can get my PC to recognise the PDA as the same one as the Pocket_PC already registered?

TIA NN

Have you reset the iPAQ?

I think that you can go into activesync on the pc and delete the existing partnership and then start again.

^^^ That's where I'd start ^^^

Or try renaming the iPAQ.

Will the above still allow me to back-up from the files stored on my desktop?

I think yes - but it won't be called a back up. You will need to transfer the files using whatever method the ipaq uses.

PS I'm not 100% sure of the above so please don't shout at me if I'm wrong!

Okay, thanks. Slight problem now in that it's telling me the "Selected backup file is not valid. Please select another storage file" so it looks like I'll have to do a file transfer.
