Having finally acquired a K10D I'm working my way through the instruction book. I've also got one of the nifty little Epson portable storage and viewing devices.
The spec for the Epson P3000 says it is compatible with RAW images from Pentax DSLRs up to the K100D. Does anyone know if the Pentax RAW files from the K10D, which I'm guessing came onto the market after the Epson spec was printed, have any difference to those from the earlier K100D that might make them incompatible? Or whether the Epson will recognise RAW files in the Adobe DNG format? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I would expect it to read DNG, the better of the two raw formats from the Pentax IMHO. Can you try it and let us know, as I am looking for one of these too.

Hi P_M,
According to this .... the Epson P3000 will do K10D RAW Files but granted this is (from) the Epson USA site so it might not apply over in the UK

Thanks Jack.
I reckon from your link it's a pretty safe bet the Epson device will read the K10D RAW files, at least in the Pentax format.

I'll try the Adobe RAW files in the Epson device as soon as possible. Truth be told, my K10D purchase was all a bit rushed: I've wanted one for a long time but held out as the price went down and down. Now with the K20D available the proce dropped below £400 - but I only just managed to get one, a lot of places have sold their last stock.
There's a lot to figure out just to get the camera set up for use. I'm hoping to try it at the weekend.

I know that raw images from the K10D can't be read on the P2000...
I guess the later models are ok...

Hi Martin,
You would think so but I checked the Epson UK site
and, lo and behold, the P3000 only goes to the K100D ...and to think I was just joking when I made US/UK remark Hopefully, there is a firmware upgrade to fix it or maybe they just haven't updated the Epson website
Cheers,
Jack
