It appears to me that MF second hand equipment prices continue to fall. I've just bought a Mamiya RZ 50mm f4.5 lens for £225 in mint condition, which I think is totally amazing considering this lens retails around the £900 mark.
Calumet have an ex display RZ 50mm f4.5 lens in their e bay shop for a buy now price of £299. Now that is value.

I've also noticed low prices for 645 lenses......
Is there a website where the relative merits of the Mamiya-Sekor lenses are assessed?
In the middle of my LBA spree of FA*/DA*/FA Limited lenses for Pentax... I fancy getting another lens for my Mamiya

Is this test summary of any use?

Is the price of film increasing tho as it gets harder to find?

Film is not particularly hard to find, there are a number of good mail order suppliers and some shops including Jacobs carry 120 film, even, say it quietly, some branches of Jessops. Prices have not really changed a great deal, only increased slightly, whether this will remain the case is another matter.
Certainly the prices of the equipment have dropped dramatically, a friend has recently bought some Mamiya 645 gear, in good condition at a price that would have been inconceivable not very long ago. This equipment is of course robust, being built to withstand extended professional use.

I think its a shame but the equipment is getting cheaper cos everyone wants digital and on a non enthusiast level at least, film is on the way out. Give it ten years i reckon

I think digital has a way to go to reach the quality of a fine film. Show me an A3 digital print from a 10 megapix camera against film and I'll pick the digital one anytime.
A 25 meg 35 mm full frame might do the job, but it will be a few years yet.

I'll buy one, when the retail price is £700

Without starting up the eternal "film vs digital" debate, while 35mm cameras are probably comparable if not inferior in some cases to the latest crop of professional dSLRs, I still feel that good quality medium format cameras have the edge in not just detail, but also tonality.
