Ah, so are some of my Rolleis.
I actually rather like 645 - my 645 and 4 lenses doesn't take up much more space or weigh much more than a DSLR or pro 35mm SLR with 2 or 3 zooms, it's equally at home on the tripod or in the hand - it's always felt like a good halfway house between 35mm and "real" medium format, and less like the sort of flawed compromise my prejudices used to make me believe...
The Mamiyaflex really isn't that much smaller and lighter than an SLR, though, is it? And the lenses available are a bit limiting. No, too compromised for me.

Hmmm. Available Mamiyaflex lenses for the TLRs include, 55mm, 65mm, 80mm, 105mm, 135mm, 180mm, and 250mm. Just how many options do you need? :-)
And no, the camera by itself it isn't a lot lighter than a 6x6 SLR, but if you're talking about a kit with a few lenses then it certainly is. I'll dig out some examples for a basic three-lens wide, standard, and tele kit for SLRs, and I'll go and stick my C330f on the scales to show you what I mean. :-)

It's wideangle-limited really, that's all.

Yes, but not more so than a Rolleiflex.

Yes, but the Rollei wins out on portability. Although perhaps not if you've got a Wide and Tele as well...

Exactly! And that is the point of a Mamiyaflex. Well done - you got there in the end. ;-)

Yeah, but it's still pants compared to a Rolleiflex...

645 - well, I would love a Contax system, but the Mamiya M645 reigns supreme. I tried a pro TL, didn't like it, and went back to the original.
I am a M645 (Pro version) user and the MF 645 system has gone the way of the RB. I've just bought a new 120 Macro lens for a third of RRP....
I am debating whether to get a new M645 ProTL body

I'm still on the original M645. I actually bought a ProTL last year, and decided I didn't really like it, so sold it again sharpish. Not sure I can put my finger on what I didn't like - it's very capable, just didn't feel right to me.
