Today was my first real day of taking photos for this course...
Not sure how or which subjects I will pick out of the 10 yet but I will try and post some so I can have your opinions on them too ...
As I think I will need a lot of help on some things.
I think I have managed to get 2 out of the 5 but I need to go through them all again and check through as there were a few Naff ones in there too...
But Anyway advice you can give me please throw it my way...
Thanks for reading

Hi everyone - hope you're all OK. Just to say that I spoke to Elliot today & he reckons that at the moment it's taking more like three weeks to return marked modules. Don't want to start Module 2 until I receive feed back on the first one. But at least it's nice having a bit of a break and to be able to enjoy shooting in this fantastic weather - yes the sun is even shining over Greater Manchester! Keep up with the posts with where you're all up to, etc.

Sorry to hear that Claire. Must remember to always check your shot on your camera before leaving, I've done it before and regretting it....
BTW who's 'they said it is a good shot'? someone on the course or a moderator?

I put the photo up to see what people thought as I am very new to this...
But do you know how hard it is to take a seagull over your head

Wow. Thats a great shot. As they have said it is a pity that the wing is slightly cut off, but still very good for someone new to this.
Did the seagull land on your camera whilst taking it?

No thank god - I don't think I would have a camera now if they did do that !!!
They are evil looking birds when they are hungry
Sending my mum and son in with the loaf of bread on Wednesday
Having trouble with what I can do - on some of the subjects... need to find a four legged friend

Hi Claire - the seagulls do look really evil. I've posted my Module 1 shots (hope this works!) - with trepidation as the work that I've seen looks really professional. I just keep trying to re-assure myself that we've all got to start somewhere!!

I wouldn't get worried about everyone elses photographs Claire. We're all on the course to learn and are all at different levels and experience. Thats why we submit our images for review and comment by the tutors to allow them to share their expertise and allow us all to improve.
I'm sure your photos will be fine. Don't be overly critical of your own work or you'll never submit anything...

Claire - those are some pearls of wisdom from Gary! I'm sure we'll all learn loads from the course - & importantly, enjoy ourselves in the process!

You must live roughly in the same area as me if your local park is Crystal Palace Park... I like the face image, even though you can't see any background...

Cool. Nice work Claire.
I'd consider cropping them down slightly to get rid of some of the background of the image. With Cow2 I would get rid of the shed in the top of the image. In regards to Cow1 I would probably suggest cropping down to a vertical image of just the cows head.
Good work.
