Recently I've been having trouble printing my 6x6 negatives in the darkroom at college. The medium format negative masks have all gone walkabout and no-one seems to be able to locate them. So I've decided to buy my own...
So, where can I get 6x6 sized negative masks to suit the carrier in a Durst M670 enlarger?
Thanks

Hum, a small sewing tool in a pile of dried grass, but about a fortnight ago I got a replacement 35mm mixing box for my M800 from here. I doubt it would be listed on the web site but should be worth a call.

If you can't find the correct masks, why not use glass inserts instead? These may be more readily available and, given that mask will not hold the neg perfectly flat, may be better suited to 6x6.

Thanks for the suggestions folks.
Ultimately the solution is to get my own darkroom set up which is the plan for the new year...if my house purchase ever gets moving again...

You could try ringing Northern Photo on 0113 255 9680. They are the holders of the Durst spares that are available in this country. They only open Mondays-Thursdays. Good luck.

I used to prefer glass inserts (anti-newton?) for my Durst. I used to have a Durst at home so I took my neg carrier into college as it was better than the scabby ones they had. The only problem I had was dust but the trade off was the negs were perfectly flat and could print full frame. Pretty sure the carrier I had used to have movable blades on it as well. I also acquired a set of 35mm inserts which I filed down - the edge round the neg gave a nice frame to the finished print (specially when printing cross processed slides onto normal paper)

I've just investigated the Durst enlarger I have in the loft. The masks are for 645 but it has a pair of glass inserts. They look like they might be the right size. I'll give them a try next week. I might take the whole carrier in as it has moveable blades, not sure it's the same as the college ones though.
