Help please on these lenses!
      #559551 - 25/10/2007 17:50

Does anyone know whether the lenses on the following auction will go on a Sony Alpha 100? (I'm guessing not!)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...A:IT&ih=012

Here is a description that the seller sent, but it's no help to me!
vivitar 28mm 1:2.8 mc close focus wide angle no.28611978 49mm filter includes hitco 49mm uv filter and both front and rear caps.
sigma zoom-kii 1:4.5 f=70~210mm multi coated 7369245 includes 52mm hoya skylight 1b and front and rear caps also leather carry case.

No Gus, they're manual focus lenses.

So they will work with Manual focus?
Or they won't work at all?

They won't fit ... different mount entirely. There are adapters available - but don't bother.

So would one adaptor make all of those lenses work with Manual focus?
Because if that's the case then that's a lot of lenses for that amount of money!

This is what you would need but you'd really be better putting the money towards a good AF lens.

I too had a look at those yesterday, would be good for someone getting into photography on a budget.

Mind you, I have thought about getting some manual focus 35mm gear based on the Minolta X700 and getting back in the darkroom.
