Talking of picking up the camera, I better go and see what photos I need for this as I'm taking the camera out with me tomorrow. LDB

Part A finished. They're getting a bit sneaky in this module and leaving it up to us to decide how to sort the colours out. Lisa.

This one's nearly finished. I'm just having a bit of trouble finding a combined RAW & jPEG image that is noticably different using the grey picker in RAW converter than using the grey picker in the levels window. The jPEG image in the text book has gone haywire but so far my RAW or jPEG although different don't individually look too bad. (I've resorted to taking a daylight photo on tungsten wb setting). Does anyone have any suggestions? Lisa.

PS I'm using PS CS3.

Lisa,
I did exactly what you have suggested i.e. took a cloudy daylight image with the tungsten per-set. It was a struggle to get the jpeg balance correct using the picker in levels, however, when using the RAW format, it was a simple excercise. Funnily enough my tutor preferred the tungsten image as it had nore drama and atmosphere!
I sent off mod 9 recently so I am now considereing my topic for the portfolio. I live surrounded by unspoiled woods and countryside overlooking the Black Mountains in Wales, I have a reputation for avoiding easy options so I will probably end up selecting something like "Inner City Landscapes"!
Hope you enjoy this wonderful weather!
Chris

I'll be having problems with this too - I don't have a RAW option on my camera so won't be able to do this part . I suppose I could do the jpeg bit though

Hi Chris (azzi),

I would definitely stick with Wales if I had that fantastic coutryside on my doorstep. How much time have you got left to do mod 10? I'm on about my fifth choice of 'project themes' and have sort of started scouting out some places already. It's going to be hard though. Any easy option would be macro flowers that I could do inside at home, but I tend not to do easy either. Good Luck. Lisa.

Not sure if that's allowed ! Wouldn't be from my camera and I don't have the means to edit RAW anyway . Good thought though Lisa, thanks . I'll pm Angela for advice!

Mod 6 went in the post today. Wonder what Barney will have to say about it. Lisa.

I collected mod 6 from the post office on Saturday. Overall, Barney thinks I've done OK but has commented that for a couple of photos the changes I've made have been so slight that he can't make out what I've done on his monitor. At the opposite extreme, for the horrible photo of the green leaves against the 'terracotta' wall he thought I'd over done it and made the colours too saturated. So be warned, don't make your changes too slight but don't go too far either. Lisa.

Had a darned good day today . Sat down and rattled through most of mod 6. I only need to find 3 more images for part C and it'll be in the post.

I could be in danger of starting mod 7 before xmas!

You've got some really nice images Chris. You have quite a knack of making simple objects into interesting compositions. I particularly like the pic of the cyclamen flower. Lisa
