This thread is for posting of FirstView pictures for the 1st of June, 2007. Please read the main About FirstView thread, if you have not done so already. You may post only one image here, and it must have been taken on the 1st of June, 2007. Please remember to include the basic details - time and place of shooting, and what we're looking at. If you want to put in a short paragraph explaining what's going on, or why you chose that one, or whatever, then please do, but keep it brief and relevant. Any discussion beyond that can go in the 'Comments' thread. Please do not post comments or other replies here - they will be deleted. This thread is for FirstView image posting only.
The picture thread will remain open for a couple of days in the first instance, so please try to get your contributions in promptly. People who are perhaps away from home, or need time for film processing, or are otherwise unable to post their images in the initial time slot should pm me - I'll re-open the thread later in the month for late additions. In all cases please remember that the forum image posting rules apply (see HOW TO POST IMAGES - MAXIMUM SIZES - Free progs - Tutorials...).

. . . . . in the garden. Lots of the plants were battered down by the heavy rain in the last few days, but a bit of dead-heading and they soon start to recover. It was nice enough to have coffee in the garden this morning and to take the chance for this shot:

Up until now I've avoided posting shots of my desk, but this month it is relevent as I moved house last weekend and have been setting up the new office this week.
Got all the hardware in place now, but need to get some paint on the walls and some carpet on the floor now!

...on packing.
Off on holiday on Wednesday (Ecuador and Galapagos) for 2 1/2 weeks so today I have started to get kit ready and do some serious thinkling about what needs taking. There'll be lots of snorkelling so that's the first lot to go in the bag.
Taken today at 1.27pm, in the bedroom.

Young magpie that crash landed in the garden. Not a great shot I know, it was a case of grab the camera and get what I can. Took it through the window as I didn't want to disturb it's mother who's still calling for it 2 hours later!

My desk this morning, around 10:

People kept coming into the office and dropping thing on it... I am normally better organised. Honest! D70, 17-35 set on Auto (for shame). Apologies for the quality... I had grand plans to do better today after work, in reality I am far too knackered.

Didn't make it to Edinburgh last week, but we did this today!
Took this this morning at Border and Passport Control heading into Scotland.
Need to check my Camera settings, for some reason a fair bit of noise has crept into some of the shots I've taken today!
