Hi I have this problem a lot , what I use is an alcohol free liquid you get from an opticians for cleaning glasses. I spray it on and wipe it free with a camera cloth... Graham

I upgraded to this lens from a Sigma 70 300 apo lens and have to say the image quality on the Nikon is much better, also the vr 2 allows more hand held shots

If you put a polariser on a protection filter you run the risk of vignetting. Hpoe this helps ... Graham

I was looking at firmware updates for my d7000, and noticed one for the d70 it's 2.0 if you have an older version on your camera it might fix your blue tint problem.Regards... Graham
