Far too much red

I have found taking good night shots indoors slightly challenging what with light/shade etc but thanks to advice on here i have remedied that hurdle.
But i have found another problem in too much "red" in the photos.
For example in the front room the rug and cusions are red and the results in the photos give me a very bright effect. Plus my wifes legs look like theyve been in the sun too long !!!!

Do you shoot in raw

No just the usual jpeg ?

It sounds like a white balance issue. A light bulb gives incandescent light (yellow/orange colour). Try setting your white balance to ether auto or incandescent or if you shoot in raw it is easy to correct in your software

Could also be that your camera is set to a 'vivid' colour reproduction, or check out your settings for saturation, colour, brightness etc. All the best.
