eos 550d

Hi

I am thinking of buying a second-hand eos 550d upgrading from a Nikon P100. .

Would this be a good buy for a first dslr?

Also is this a good lens to buy with it - Canon EF-S55 250mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom A Lens?

I would stay away from 2nd hand and would look closely at the 550d which i think is a better buy.

Before purchasing the 550d why not take a look at other companies that you may not immediatly think of chosing such as Pentax, as you can purchase the pentax KR for alot less and the KR does trump the 550d in quite alot of areas :)
