Hello all, I am thinking of getting back into photography, my previos Nikon slr ( film ) was damaged and I could never afford to replace it. My question is, can I use the lenses I have from this previous Nikon on a new one. They are - Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-f/5.6G and another that came with the kit.
If so, I can spend more on a body only and use these to get me started, is the Nikon D90 compatible as this seems resonably priced? Cheers, Carlyboy.
Hi. Yes you can use your old lenses but [ always a but ] they will only work on manual mode and wont auto focus. I use an old 55 mm macro and an even older 70-210 E sreie sand both work on manual mode on a d5000. They will also work on a d90. Hope this helps... graham
Also bear in mind that due to the sensor size you have a 1.5 times multiplyer to consider, in other words your 70-300 mil is actually a 93-400mm on a digital SLR..
