FirstBench 2008 kicks off

Benchists among the AP/WDC forum users might like to know that the 2008 season of the world's most prestigious bench photography competition(*) gets under way again today (23rd of May). Entries are invited for the May round from today until the 30th of the month. Rules, T&C, etc. are to be found at www.benchinistas.org.uk/ Get benching, everybody! :-)

(*) To the best of our knowledge! :-)

I will be on ambassadorial duties this weekend (Riga, Latvia), so I won't make my posting until mid-week.

But I'm very much looking forward to seeing another great year for benching and FirstBench

So far today there's been innerest from across the globe. We've had forum visits from as far afield as China. Admittedly they just wanted to sell us exotic salves and unctions, but at least the word is out there...

... and that word is Benchism!!

Ah buggery, Ive got me shot but I havent got time to mess about with it now and Im off away for a week

I expect a couple of days overdue won't matter, especially with it being the first round of the new season - it looks as though people are taking a bit of time to get into the swing of it again. Normally we'd have at least two or three entries posted by this time, but when I last went over there earlier this afternoon there were still none. Ah well, things will soon pick up, I'm sure, but maybe there will be a few peeps needing a little more time at the end of the scheduled benching week.
