New Poll - more dinner

Hi all

The second part of the 'who would you like to have dinner with' poll is now on the Home Page. Capa beat Bailey last week, but poor old Snowdon was way behind. I guess he's just not as exciting!

Bit more of a tough one this week, but I have a feeling I know who will win.

Thanks, and keep the suggestions coming.

Well, after suggesting Rankin in the last thread I can;t really go back now. Besides, Anne Leibowitz isn't enough of a looker and Rankin would know enough totty to make up a foursome.

I'd vote for "Annie Leibovitz", only so I could run up a huge food bill and then leave without paying

Steve, you do mean Leibovitz? For all we know, the much-loved AW may be a photographer ... If deceased female togs can be nominated, Leni Rethanstal, would be my choice, since as a photographer and film-maker, she was so astoundingly innovative.

I second that, as both an amateur photographer and cinematographer. Mind you she only poped her clogs quite recently, kept going to a good age, hope I'm still going strong at that age. Sorry, rambling.

Anne Leibowitz is not an empty headed model, or a vacuous bit of totty celeb, who's atributes and behaviour leave them fair game to any comment that some 'never got past adolescent' overgrown schoolboy might make. The recent comments about this very talented and respected photographer are not in the best spirit of this forum and I am rather surprised that the mods have not intervened. Lets try to maintain some semblance of good taste gentlemen.

I voted fox Talbot
But there is a problem....
I don't think I would get to ask any questions.

He would be far too interested in the progress of his Photographic inventions, and how their fortunes compared to those of Daguerre.

Well if you went round to his place you certainly wouldn't have to help with the washing up! According to the 1871 census he was staying at 13 Great Stuart Street in Edinburgh and was described as "landowner in England" - with him at the time were his wife, two unmarried daughters, a visitor, a butler, a footman, a lady’s maid, a cook, a kitchen maid, two upper housemaids and a lower housemaid

Maybe under the circumstances, Josiah Wedgwood should be invited to attend ... He could be asked about the 'Leaf' image which is causing a fair bit of controversy at the moment, and if indeed he produced it, how indeed he did so.
