An interesting question.
I use long lenses most of the time, and about 80% of my pictures are taken in the 300-400mm range so my gut reaction was a 300mm f/2.8 please
. However, on reflection it would probably be better to go for something shorter (135-200mm) on the basis that I can always crop the image afterwards.
